The Bologna LGBTQIA+ Choir carries out numerous artistic and educational projects, in synergy with the community, the city and institutions.

With our music we help build a great community and carry on the battle for the rights of all.

On September 29, 2022, Komos APS, along with 31 other associations, collectives and informal groups, signed the General pact of cooperation For the promotion and protection of the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community.. Networking of best practices, forms of logistical, economic, communicative and administrative support, collaboration in the development of policies to enhance the value of differences and combat discrimination in the City of Bologna: these are the cornerstones of the new Pact, defined together with the member associations for the 2021-2026 administrative term in the city of Bologna.

The Another Brick project was born with the aim of promoting a culture of respect and equality, raising public awareness of the history of the LGBTQIA+ movement and the recognition of civil, social, and political rights. Through an interdisciplinary journey combining music, theatre, and historical audio and video testimonies, the Komos choir aims to combat hate speech and discrimination, with particular attention to the peripheral areas of Italy. The cities chosen for the intervention, Vicenza and Siracusa, represent contexts where the impact of cultural initiatives like this can be amplified, thanks to collaboration with local associations and student networks.

Various Voices is the festival of European LGBTQIA+ choirs.

In 2023, it was indeed our Bologna that hosted over 100 choirs, not only from all over Europe, but also from America and Africa.

We had the honour of being guests at this very grand event.

Komos&Co is the music festival that builds community. In May, Komos is organising a calendar of events bringing performers of various kinds to Bologna, to share music, art, experiences and passion.
Each year, alongside.

The 2025 edition of the ARMOCROMIE festival offers very different experiences: from choral music to band music, from contemporary circus to queer tango. All this to announce the arrival in Bologna of Cromatica, the festival of Italian LGBTQIA+ choirs organised by Komos with the Cromatica association.

Much more than a performance: My free song is a real educational path that the Komos offers to schools, to accompany classes on a path of knowledge and awareness about the history of the persecution of queer people during fascism. Through our voice and music, but also through the reading and viewing of many cultural contributions.

The initiative is carried out by Komos Association and Flavia Madaschi Documentation Center - Arcigay Il Cassero as part of the General Pact of Collaboration for the promotion and protection of the rights of LGBTQIA+ people and community in the city of Bologna 2022-26
